The Centennial Grove, an annex of the main arboretum, was created to commemorate OSU's centennial, 1890 - 1990.
Centennial Grove serves to enhance one of the major gateways to Oklahoma State University at the junction of Farm Road and Hall of Fame Avenue. The site is unique, having a terrain that varies from dry plain to flood plain. It provides a hands-on learning laboratory for students in botany, forestry, horticulture, landscape architecture and related disciplines.
It is composed of both native and introduced tree species known to be climatically adapted to Oklahoma and thus provides a place where Oklahomans can study trees growing in their natural sizes and forms.
All plants are labeled with common and scientific names and cultural information.
